If you’ve stumbled upon our humble abode, you are probably interested in getting something printed using the silkscreen process. Silkscreen is a printmaking technique in which ink is pulled through a stretched mesh cloth on a wooden or aluminium frame. We prepare the screen with your stencil on it (your image), which can then be printed on a variety of materials.
Why Choose Silkscreen?
When we produce a multi-coloured print, we print each colour layer at a time. This means that if you want 200 rainbow tote bags, we need to print the first colour, red, on all 200 tote bags before we can move onto the next colour. Despite this labour of love, we try and accommodate our customers with the best price possible. Still interested? Click here for examples of printing possibilities at Raksasa Print. Please visit this page for information on requesting a quotation for your silkscreen project!
(If you are interested in learning the process for yourself, we teach classes at our studio).
Once you are ready to proceed with the project, it’s time to send us your file.
File types we accept:
.PSD, .AI, .JPEG, .PDF, .TIFF
All files must be 300dpi or above and scaled to the desired size. We do not recommend printing low quality files.
For single colour projects, a B&W or greyscale file is sufficient.
For projects with multiple colours, we prefer that the image is separated into layers:
If you cannot do this yourself, we offer this service free of charge for images with less than 3 colours. However, more complicated images will be charged an editing fee of RM30+ depending on the image.
Please always send us a full colour JPEG version as a reference.
We have a standard turnover time of 3-5 business days from the day the deposit or agreement has been made. We are able to accommodate rush orders for an extra fee. For more complicated print jobs (such as large orders over 100 or multiple colours) we require up to a week to complete.
